As men age, <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.bensnaturalhealth.com\/prostate-gland-function\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"the prostate gland (opens in a new tab)\">the prostate gland<\/a> naturally enlarges, and the growing prostate gland gradually presses against the urethra and restricts urinary flow. A catheter is a hollow tube, which is passed into the bladder via external urethral opening to drain urine.\n\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n\nUTI occurs when bacteria in a catheter bypass the body&#8217;s defense mechanisms and enter the bladder.
