Dr. Gabr’s training path includes a medical degree from Ain Shams University in Egypt, a master’s in Ophthalmology, a 2-year vitreoretinal research fellowship at Duke University (where he received a Research to Prevent Blindness grant for 3D printing of ophthalmic instruments), ophthalmology residency at Duke Eye Center, and a 2-year Medical and Surgical Retina fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
He has authored or co-authored over 12 scientific articles and book chapters on medical and surgical retina and has presented at many national and international meetings.

Education
